This looks like a box, but the top does not open. There is a small hole at the very top that is large enough for a stick of incense, but we think it's beautiful and would look just perfect as a sculptural element. 

Great vintage condition—arm has been broken on one of the ladies as shown in last image, but the metal is so strong that it doesn't compromise stability.
