About the artist
Jules Pascin (1885-1930), born as Julius Mordecai Pincas, was a Bulgarian-born American artist who played a significant role in the early 20th-century art scene. Known for his distinctive style and ability to capture the essence of human figures, Pascin became a prominent figure in the Montparnasse art community in Paris during the height of the modernist movement.
Pascin's art encompassed various mediums, including painting, drawing, and printmaking. He developed a unique approach that combined elements of fauvism, expressionism, and classical art, resulting in works that exuded sensuality, melancholy, and a certain sense of introspection.
