About the artist

Ernst Ludwig Kirchner was a German expressionist painter and printmaker. He was one of the founding members of the art group "Die Brücke" (The Bridge), which sought to challenge traditional artistic conventions and explore new modes of artistic expression.

Kirchner's works often depicted urban scenes, portraits, and landscapes with bold colors, sharp angles, and distorted forms. His paintings captured the vibrant energy and tensions of early 20th-century urban life.
